The Heavens are Kathie Prince, Julie Harris, Fliss Kingston, Tina Leeming.
Four vocalists from classical, jazz and traditional roots who share a passion for singing and pushing the boundaries of vocal expression.
Their songs reflect a love of music from Africa to America, Eastern Europe to England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales.
Their vocal improvisation has been referred to as "gothic vocal laments" by John Fordham in The Guardian and "immensely haunting" by the Downtown Music Gallery, New York.
The Heavens perform unaccompanied and with guest instrumentalists. They recently collaborated with Steve Harris' improvising super group ZAUM on their latest album, I hope you never love anything as much as I love you.
The singers who are based in Dorset have performed at a variety of venues including London's ICA, The Lighthouse Arts Centre Poole, The Tolpuddle Martyrs Festival in Dorset and The Study Gallery of Modern Art, Poole.
